  18. <p>-- Flip channels during a TV program (17% of women do, 22%
  19. of men).

  21. <p>-- End a friendship should they discover the friend is
  22. homosexual (28% of young women would, 54% of men).
  23. </p>
  24. <p>-- Be in a traffic accident (63% of all reported accidents
  25. involve male drivers).

  27. <p>-- Receive a pension (23% of women do, 46% of men).
  28. </p>
  29. <p>-- Buy junk food (in 61% of households, men choose the
  30. snacks).

  32. <p>     Some Things Women Are More Likely to Do Than Men:

  34. <p>-- Earn a bachelor's or master's degree (women earn 51.9%
  35. of these degrees).

  37. <p>-- Buy a greeting card (women account for 90% of card
  38. purchases).

  40. <p>-- Take dictation (99% of all secretaries are women).

  42. <p>-- Vote in presidential elections (in 1988, 58.3% of
  43. eligible women voted, 56.4% of men).
  44. </p>
  45. <p>-- Take vitamins (39% of women do, 27% of men).
  46. </p>
  47. <p>     I Do, for Now
  48. </p>
  49. <p>-- An estimated one-half to two-thirds of women who married
  50. in the 1980s will divorce.
  51. </p>
  52. <p>-- Couples who live together before getting married are more
  53. likely to divorce within 10 years than couples who don't.
  54. </p>
  55. <p>-- More women (43%) than men (31%) approve of divorce for
  56. unhappily married couples with young children.
  57. </p>
  58. <p>-- Fewer women (37%) than men (50%) say it is better to be
  59. married than to go through life single.
  60. </p>
  61. <p>-- 40% of female high school seniors don't consider it very
  62. likely that they'll be married to the same person for life.

  64. <p>     Why Jane Fonda Is Rich

  66. <p>     Twice as many women ages 30 to 64 as men think they are
  67. overweight. In one University of California study, 58% of
  68. 17-year-old girls said they were overweight; only 17% actually
  69. were.

  71. <p>     They Don't Do Ovens
  72. </p>
  73. <p>     Husbands may be doing more of the dirty work at home--20%
  74. of the cooking, cleaning and laundry, up from 8% in 1965--but
  75. they have their limits. Take oven cleaning...please. The
  76. Roper Organization reports that this most widely disliked
  77. household chore is also one of the two chores least performed
  78. by men (the other is ironing).

  81. </p>
  82. <p>     You won't run into too many male RNs--94% are women--but
  83. if you do, chances are he'll be smiling. He earns 10% more than
  84. female nurses. And the 2% of all construction workers who are
  85. women earn 25% less than male hardhats.

  87. <p>     Why Women Skip Breakfast
  88. </p>
  89. <p>     Dermatologist Paul Lazar of Northwestern University Medical
  90. School found that women use 17 to 21 grooming products every
  91. morning.

  94. </p>
  95. <p>     In an American Bar Association survey, 20% of female lawyers
  96. admitted to having at least six alcoholic drinks a day, compared
  97. with 11% of male lawyers. But who's making the full disclosure?

  99. <p>     Have Son, Will Not Travel
  100. </p>
  101. <p>     The parents of sons are less likely to separate or divorce
  102. than couples who have only daughters. The reason? University of
  103. Pennsylvania researchers say fathers are more involved with sons
  104. and concerned about providing a role model.
